Proverbs 27:8
Like a bird that wanders from her nest, so is a man who wanders from home.
The other day my sister Johanna found a baby woodpecker hopping around in the grass in our front yard. She had no idea where this little creature had come from until she found its next way high up in one of our trees. This verse seemed relevant to this story, & it also reminded me of the parable that Jesus told of the prodigal son.
How often do we stray from God? How often do we tell Him, "Hey, I'm just gonna do my own thing because my way is better & easier & alot more fun. I don't want those trials, I don't want the hard stuff, it's no fun!?" Too often in my opinion. But God wants us to follow Him, even when its hard. He doesn't want us to stray from Him. He wants us to chase Him, to run after Him & for Him with every single ounce of our beings! He whispers to us, "Don't give up! You can do it! I'm with you!"
Yet, if we do stray from Him & tell Him that we don't want to have to do that right now, He is eager to bring us back because He loves us & the moment we do come back through Him calling to us, He welcomes us in through the most loving & compassionate way ever imaginable.
God is Awesome!!!
